Welcome to Chester Farm

Situated in the beautiful Maratoto Valley, between Paeroa and Thames, Chester Farm is a professional horse training and breeding facility owned and operated by Greg and Diana Jamieson. The farm covers over 80 acres of fertile pastures featuring rolling hills, rivers and native bush. This land, combined with the mild year round climate, provides the ultimate setting for breeding, raising and training performance horses for all disciplines.

We can offer a great variety of training to horses that come to us for training - from starting young horses under saddle and giving them early ridden mileage hacking out and about, through to basic dressage flatwork, teaching horses to jump through to more advanced jump training, cross-country schooling and hunter spars, all incorporating hill work, bush and river rides - this setting is ideal for producing forward, responsive, confident young horses, while also giving older horses more variety and interest from their regular work at home.
By only taking on a small number of horses for training at a time allows us to offer a very personalised service, ensuring we have plenty of time to work with each individual as they require on a day to day basis.
Lessons are also popular at Chester Farm, with several 3 Day Riding Clinics & Camps also being held during the spring and summer months which offer professional training and lots of fun!

As well as cross grazing young dairy heifers on the farm, we also breed and produce a small number of top quality Warmblood horses of our own for competition and sale. We strive to produce athletic, attractive, scopey horses with kind, trainable minds, superior movement and talented jumping ability.
